Much research has been done on the effectiveness of online learning. With online learning, social networking can be thought of as a vehicle for disseminating and organizing learning, either in a face to face or online environment.
Social networking can help build a global learning community. It consists of a multitude of free web 2.0 tools that may be applied to a technology-integrated course, with added social benefits for courses taught from a distance.
Interested in how social media could be used in your course? We work with faculty and staff to find meaningful ways to use technology and social media in education. Please contact us if you would like to experiment with any social media and/or web 2.0 tools or if you just want to have an educated discussion on how these tools could supplement your teaching in the classroom.
